Big Creek Reserve Management Collection

This collection contains administrative and management files for the Landels-Hill Big Creek Reserve (LHBC). It includes subject files, legal documents and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), clippings, scientific data, reference files pertaining to reserve operations, photographs, and other administrative documents.

Of particular note are: (1) data used for generating annual reports, visitor logs from 2001-02, (2) correspondence on property management, including trespassing and poaching on the reserve from 1994-2002, (3) publicity clippings from 1979- 2000, (4) agendas and memos from the UC Santa Cruz NRS advisory committee, (5) notes about the location of research projects on the reserve, (6) undergraduate research projects from the 1980s, (7) compilations of road-kill survey data from 2001-11, (8) an MOU with the California Department of Fish & Game (now Fish and Wildlife) regarding the marine portion of Big Creek Reserve from 1993, (9) publicity materials related to the Marine Research Reserve, (10) copies of fish survey data, wildlife observations from 1978-88 and 1992-99, and (11) assorted photographs of the LHBC from 1991-2006.
