UC San Diego NRS Campus Office

Information

UC San Diego administers four NRS reserves: Dawson Los Monos Canyon Reserve (DLMC), Elliott Chaparral Reserve (ECR), Kendall-Frost Mission Bay Marsh Reserve (KFMB), and Scripps Coastal Reserve (SCR). The NRS campus office administers all the UCSD reserves directly, except for SCR which is partly operated in partnership with the Scripps Institute of Oceanography. The California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) and the California Coastal Commission both also have interests in SCR. SCR consists of two distinct parts, the shoreline and an elevated cliff area called the "Knoll."

UC San Diego's Geisel Library Special Collections hold significant collections pertaining to the NRS and the UCSD reserves as well as White Mountain Research Center, which was administered by UCSD before joining the NRS.
